From the outset, I was captivated by the energy of the diner and the importance of each detail. I learned that a perfectly cooked meal in a well-maintained diner, could lift spirits, while a smile could turn a routine visit into a cherished memory. It was during those formative years that I realized the true impact we could have—not just on our customers, but on each other as a team.
As I progressed into middle and senior management positions, I faced both challenging and rewarding moments. Economic downturns led to layoffs and plant closures, testing my resilience and determination. Yet, through these trials, I found strength in collaboration and team strength. I leaned on my team, fostering an environment where we could openly share our struggles and support one another. Together, we navigated the rough waters, always with a “people first” mindset.
